What is the color of the LED going to look like? Light temperature is rated in Kelvin. The Kelvin shown in the "Terminology" section on the front page shows the various degrees of color technical definitions. TouchStone "warm white" LEDs are between 2700-3200K, which means they closely match the color tone of existing incandescent and halogen lighting. In most cases, customers prefer our LEDs to the existing bulbs they currently have.
What about the initial cost of converting to LED? The up-front costs associated with LED are offset by reduced electrical consumption, significantly reduced relamping maintenance expenses, reduced cooling costs and rebate programs.
Can I convert my existing fixtures to LED? Yes, virtually every type and style of fixtures can be retro-fitted with an LED bulb.
Can the LED bulbs be dimmed? Yes, certain models dimmable LED lights are available and do not require special dimmers.
Do they melt snow? Yes, while LED bubs produce significantly less heat than other types of bulbs, they do produce enough heat to melt snow. (Dusk to dawn operation is recommended to insure snow melt.)
How long do they last? On average, Touchstone LED bulbs are rated for 50,000+ hours of operation without any color, or performance degradation. When used in the most common areas of your home, business or building, TouchStone LEDs should last in excess of 17 years! Enjoy cost-effective lighting solutions with our PAR 38 LED bulbs, PAR30 LED, PAR30 LED bulbs, and much more.
Are they bright enough? Each watt of our LED lamps is equivalent to 9 watts of halogen (i.e. 3w TouchStone LED = 27 watt halogen bulb).
